The cheap time to make solar decisions is before consent
Once the roof is framed and the walls are lined, every solar decision gets harder: fewer good places for the battery, penetrations in the wrong spots, a switchboard with no room left and cables that have to go the long way round.

What the review does not replace
A Solar-Ready Design Review is solar integration advice. It does not replace:
- Structural engineering or a producer statement
- Architectural certification or building consent processes
- Project-specific engineering where it is required
- Detailed system design by the installer, or the electrical certification of the installed system

What plans do you need?
Floor plans, roof plan and elevations are the minimum. Electrical layouts, site plans and any existing solar or battery intentions help. The “What to Send” checklist covers it.
How long does it take?
We confirm turnaround when we scope the job. Tell us if you are working to a deadline.
Do you need to visit the site?
Usually not for a desktop review. If a visit would genuinely help, we will say so and quote it.
Will you design the solar system?
No. The review makes sure the building is ready for solar. Detailed system design is done by the installer, or by SolarLink as a separate engagement.
Can you review plans from anywhere in NZ?
Yes. Desktop reviews work nationwide.
