Real numbers before you commit capital

An independent feasibility study built on your actual consumption data, not a sales proposal’s assumptions.

Why real data matters

A good study starts with a year of your data

Savings depend on when you use power, not just how much. Half-hourly data shows how much solar you would use on site, how much you would export, and whether a battery makes sense.

EECA’s own guidance for commercial solar is that “it’s best to have one whole year of half hourly data to fully understand your usage”. That is the starting point for a SolarLink study.

What the study covers

Included where applicable

Your data

12 months of electricity data, with half-hourly analysis where it is available.

Generation modelling

Solar generation modelled for your site and several system-size scenarios.

Self-consumption and export

Clear assumptions on what you use on site and what you export.

The money

Indicative capex, savings, payback and IRR.

Network and battery

Network considerations, a battery scenario where relevant, and a written recommendation.

Pricing

What a feasibility study is

An independent, indicative financial and technical assessment to support a decision. Capex figures are indicative until installers price a specification, and results depend on the quality of the data supplied. It is not detailed system design or an engineering assessment of the building.

How it works

FAQ

Common questions

What data do you need?

Ideally 12 months of half-hourly consumption data from your retailer or metering provider, plus recent bills. The Feasibility Data Checklist lists it all.

What if we don’t have half-hourly data?

We can work from monthly bills, but the results are less precise. We will be upfront about that.

Will you sell us a system?

No. SolarLink provides the study. If you go ahead, we can help you tender it so installers price the same scope.

Do you do studies outside Taranaki?

Yes. Most of the work is desktop-based and done nationwide.
