Solar safety training for first responders
Practical, hands-on awareness training for crews: what the equipment is, how it behaves at an incident and where the isolation points usually are. Real hardware, plain English.
- Fire and rescue crews
- Police
- Ambulance and SAR teams
- Anyone who attends property incidents
More homes and sites have solar and batteries every year
Crews increasingly arrive at properties with PV arrays, inverters and battery systems. Knowing what those components are, and what isolation does and doesn’t achieve, helps crews make better decisions on arrival.
This is general awareness training. It supports, and does not replace, your service’s own incident-command procedures and SOPs.
Knowledge for the situations crews face
Hazard recognition
The real electrical and fire considerations of PV and battery systems, and the common myths.
System components
Panels, inverters, isolators, batteries and wiring, and how they behave during an incident.
Isolation concepts
What isolation points exist, where they are usually found and their limits.
Real hardware
Hands-on demonstrations with actual solar and battery equipment.
Scenario discussion
Talk-throughs of realistic situations, then Q&A.

Awareness, not procedure
Sessions give crews general awareness of solar and battery systems. They do not set or replace official emergency-service procedures, incident command or SOPs, which remain the responsibility of each service.
