Specialist solar knowledge, outside the sales process
Solar now touches far more jobs than the installer’s. Builders, architects, agents, fire crews, business owners and community groups all run into it, and most of them need a straight answer rather than a quote.

Filling the gap around the installer
Most solar knowledge in New Zealand sits inside installation companies, and it usually comes attached to a product. That leaves a gap for everyone else who has to make decisions about solar: what goes on the plans, what a system on a listing is worth, how to isolate it safely, whether a commercial project stacks up.
SolarLink exists to make that specialist knowledge available on its own terms. Scoped, priced and delivered as advice, training and project support.
Brad Lynch
Brad trained as an electrician in Germany and carried on in the trade in New Zealand, with a background across commercial, industrial and rural electrical work. He has spent the last seven years specialising in solar, and has 15+ years in the electrical industry overall.
He also built Solar One, a Taranaki installation business, from a one-man van to a team of seven. That is where the practical operations experience comes from: quoting, DG applications, scheduling, compliance systems and running crews.
Alongside that he trains and speaks, including engagements associated with Electrify Taranaki and Sustainable Taranaki, and sessions for community groups and schools. He is still hands-on in the industry every week.
Advice that doesn’t depend on a sale
When the person advising you is paid through the equipment, it is hard to know whose interests the advice serves. SolarLink is paid for the advice itself, so recommendations can be made on the merits of the project.
If a project needs installing, SolarLink can coordinate suitable delivery as part of it. You are never required to use a particular installer or brand.
Transparent, and kept separate
SolarLink is an independent consulting and education business. Founder Brad Lynch is also a director of Solar One. SolarLink engagements are scoped and charged independently, and recommendations are based on the requirements of the project rather than a requirement to purchase equipment or installation from Solar One.
On installer-support work, any potential conflict is flagged as soon as it is known, and the engagement can end there by mutual agreement.
